I was very impressed by the way this doctor had analysed the MRI scan I had had to hopefully determine the cause of my sciatica and back ache and presented me with two alternative options one invasive (back operation) and one none invasive (steroid injection) to hopefully a effect a cure or satisfactory improvement to the symptoms. He also enlightened me as to the risks involved should I choose to go ahead with having an operation. In the event I told him I would prefer to try steroid injection first and he confirmed that should it not have the desired effect a subsequent operation would still be open to me. I left having every faith in this doctor. Every aspect of my visit to the hospital was excellent

His timely treatments first by head clamp and then by operation on the neck vertebrae prevented further damage to my nervous system and I came through it all with only a reduction in my left arm movement after a comparatively short stay. He was very responsive to questions at my signing off meeting. I considered that I had to wear my neck brace for too long (well over 6 weeks) and had to telephone to get an appointment to have it removed. I do not believe this was the fault of Mr Arzoglou.

I found Mr Arzoglou polite helpful and he explained what was happening to me so that I was aware at every stage of my treatment. I could not have had better treatment even if I had been a private patient. The total care package from the start of my surgery to my follow up care on ward 4 and my follow up care package at home were the best I could have wished for.my recovery is still on going but I am now well enough to go back to work and get on with the rest of my active life thanks to the life saving treatment I received from Mr Arzoglou and Dr Adams and their teams I can't praze them enough. Had an urgent spinal operation late in November by Mr Arzoglou at Hull Royal Infirmary. Mr Artzoglou was so easy to talk to and makes you feel at ease. The scar from the operation healed really quickly and the nurse who removed the stitches remarked how neat they were. I was up and about quickly after the operation with minimal pain. I would certainly recommend requesting a referral to Mr Arzoglou if you require back surgery.
